Full text linkThis article proposes an analogy between two activities belonging to different fields: the translation of texts and the arrangement of pieces of music. These two practices are confronted with similar problematics and face the same questions concerning the way they adapt the text to be translated or the piece of music to be arranged, and the effect produced at reception: the erasure behind the original piece, the functionality of reception, the need to be faithful to both the author and the receiver are thus common issues that we discuss in the light of translation studies theories and musical practice

No full textIn his sensitive and original compositions inspired by poems by Yves Bonnefoy, Jeremy Thurlow seems to have intuitively rather than consciously captured the poet’s own longstanding preoccupations, especially his never-ending quest for Presence, which is the cornerstone of his poetic endeavour. In its duplicity, image is a threat to Presence, yet they are inextricably linked. A phenomenologically-inspired analysis, based upon Vladimir Jankélévitch’s insights, reveals that music allows a way out of the closed structures of image and concept. Thurlow’s musical rendering of Bonnefoy’s poetic intuitions enact the true vocation of poetry by allowing the sounds to release their full revelatory potential.

No full textAngesichts des Fortschritts digitaler Technik und des damit einhergehenden Rückgangs von Kommunikation in leiblicher Präsenz beantwortet die Abhandlung die Frage, was das Konzept der Leiblichkeit anthropologisch zu leisten vermag. Als „digitale Mediatisierung“ wird zuerst ein neues Verständnis von Digitalisierung jenseits apokalyptischer und utopischer Rede bestimmt. Der Begriff der „Aura“ bei Walter Benjamin und die Bedeutung von „Echtheit“ in der Editionsphilologie umgrenzen das hier angelegte Verständnis von Authentizität. Anschließend wird im Rückgriff auf die phänomenologischen Untersuchungen von Maurice Merleau-Ponty und Hermann Schmitz der Begriff des körperlichen Leibes erläutert. In der Zusammenfügung der Ergebnisse zeigt sich, dass der körperliche Leib die ursprünglichste Originalität des Menschen und Bedingung der Möglichkeit für unvermittelte Authentizität darstellt. Leibliche Authentizität als anthropologische Erkenntnis dient somit als Schlüssel der Orientierung und Gestaltung der digitalen Mediatisierung. This article examines the anthropological concept of corporeality (Leiblichkeit) in view of the current progress in digital technologies and the associated decrease in real-life communication. Staying clear of apocalyptic and utopian speech, the term “digitization” is first redefined as “Digital Mediatization”. In a second step, Walter Benjamin’s concept of “aura” and the edition philological notion of genuineness (Echtheit) are adopted in establishing an understanding of authenticity. Finally, drawing on the phenomenological insights of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Hermann Schmitz, the concept of the “corporeal body” is presented. Putting these results together, it becomes evident that the physical body represents the most primordial originality of human beings and the condition of possibility for unmediated authenticity. Therefore, “Corporeal Authenticity” as anthropological insight serves as a key to apprehend and to shape Digital Mediatization

No full textDas Christentum steht im Ruf, anthropozentrisch zu sein. Unter Verweis auf die einschlägigen Passagen im Katechismus der Katholischen Kirche wird der katholischen Theologie seit einigen Jahren verstärkt Tiervergessenheit vorgeworfen. Der Beitrag sichtet in einem ersten Schritt die Aussagen des Katechismus zu den nichtmenschlichen Kreaturen im Allgemeinen und den Tieren im Besonderen. In einem zweiten Schritt werden Anknüpfungspunkte für eine wertschätzende Sicht auf Tiere in der kirchlichen Lehre herausgearbeitet. Ziel des Beitrags ist der Nachweis, dass eine Theologie des Lebendigen keinen Fremdkörper für die katholische Theologie darstellt.Christianity enjoys a reputation of being notoriously anthropocentric. With reference to relevant passages in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Church has been accused of forgetting animals in recent years. In a first step, this article examines the Catechism’s teachings about non-human creatures in general and animals in particular. In a second step, paradigms for a respectful view of animals in Catholic doctrine are developed. The article aims at proving that a theology of living beings is not alien to Catholic theology

No full textDieser Artikel zielt darauf, die argumentativen Grundlagen freizulegen, auf welchen der Religionsbegriff und die Theorie des Religionsrechts bei Karl Christian Friedrich Krause beruhen, um beide für nachfolgende systematische Analysen zu erschließen. Zunächst wird in Werk und Wirkungsgeschichte Krauses eingeführt und seine Rechtsphilosophie umrissen. Danach werden der Religionsbegriff und das Religionsrecht Krauses rekonstruiert, bevor der Artikel mit Konklusionen und einem Ausblick auf zukünftige Forschung schließt.This article aims to uncover the argumentative foundations of Karl Christian Friedrich Krause’s concept of religion and of his theory of laws concerning religion in order to prepare both for subsequent systematic analyses. First, I introduce Krause’s work as well as its legacy and outline his philosophy of law. Then, I reconstruct Krause’s concept of religion and his theory of laws concerning religion before presenting conclusions and giving an outlook on future research
